Alashan Agate is found in the Gobi Desert, which is in the Chinese part of Mongolia. Millions of years ago this area was an ocean. Volcanic eruptions caused the creation of these Agates. Then they were buried in the sands of the Gobi Desert. Some say this Agate is a “relic” of the earth because it had been buried deep in the earth. In the desert, were exposed to extreme heat and cold and polished by the desert wind and sand. Alashan Agate comes in a variety of colors from pastels pinks and creams, grey to dark brown and orange.
